On December 18, 2019 Wings of Rescue flew our 9,000th pet ( to safety on a flight from Phoenix Arizona to Salt Lake City and Coeur d’Alene Idaho. We did not stop there as we ended 2019 by flying 9,320 at-risk shelter pets to safety! Our aim is to save even more in 2020!
Here are our final 2019 statistics:
We have flown 139 flights, traveling 301,842 miles, carrying our precious cargo of 9,320 fully vetted, healthy at-risk shelter pets (6,600 dogs, 2,705 cats, 13 pot-bellied pigs, 3 rabbits and 1 cockatoo) weighing 148,657 pounds. We delivered 206,630 pounds of humanitarian and pet relief to victims of Hurricane Dorian and are extremely pleased to have launched Operation Pit Stop in 4 communities, Bakersfield California, Fort Worth Texas, West Memphis Arkansas and Benton Arkansas in which we spay/neutered over 300 Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes.
Wings of Rescue could not have accomplished our mission without the loving support of our fabulous donors, our good friends at the Greatergood.org, PetSmart Charities and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
