Wings of Rescue Is There When Disaster Strikes!

Wings of Rescue loading 110 pet survivors from Hurricane Dorian in Freeport Bahamas for a flight to New Castle Delaware and Portland Maine

It’s easy to think of Wings of Rescue being the “Red Cross for Pets.”   Hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, wildfires and earthquakes – if there is a disaster that endangers pets Wings of Rescue’s planes will be there to help.  Our mission in disasters is to fly in emergency humanitarian and pet supplies and then fly out shelter pets displaced by the calamity – while making sure that each pet has had a month to be reunited with their families.

In 2019 we flew over 50 missions to help survivors of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas, carrying in over 100 tons of pet and people food, medical supplies, generators, building material, clothing, school supplies as well as candy and games for the islands’ children, and flew out over 532 pets to safety.  We flew 428 cats and dogs from floods in Nebraska, Arkansas and Oklahoma and flew another 127 pets out of Louisiana who were threatened by Hurricane Barry.
